BIOREBA AgriStrip

The rapid one-step assay AgriStrip, developed and manufactured by BIOREBA, is based on lateral flow immunochromatography and is very fast. The test has been developed to confirm the presence of a plant pathogen in samples with suspicious symptoms. Such a sample is homogenized and a few drops of the homogenate are transferred to a cuvette.
The strip is dipped into the extract and the result can be read within a few minutes. A positive result is seen as a colored band at the test line, whereas the colored band at the control line should always appear. Test strips can be kept as permanent records.
The performance of the test is very easy and there is no need for special laboratory equipment. Therefore, the AgriStrip is especially suitable when testing is required on-site, such as in greenhouses or fields.

BIOREBA AgriStrip-Magnetic

The innovative rapid assay AgriStrip-magnetic, developed and produced by BIOREBA, is a lateral-flow immunochromatographic test based on an antigen-antibody reaction combined with Magnetic Bead Technology enabling the preceding enrichment of the antigen. A plant extract is first incubated with magnetic beads coated with pathogen-specific antibodies. These beads are then separated from the extract with a magnet and re-suspended in a small volume of running buffer. Finally, a strip is inserted and the concentrated beads migrate upwards through the strip and brown colored lines will become visible.
Both test and control lines become visible with positive extracts (containing the pathogen), whereas negative samples produce only the upper control line. Intense coloration is reached within 10-20 min and the results can be registered.
The performance of the test is very easy and there is no need for special laboratory equipment. The AgriStrip-magnetic is especially suitable when testing is required on-site, such as in greenhouses or fields.

Differential Counters

DIFFCOUNT III microprocessor-controlled differential cell counters are designed for use in any hematology laboratory. While automated hematology instruments can differentiate to three or five parts, the DIFFCOUNT III can manually tally and store up to 12 differentials in its memory, making it an essential tool for the modern laboratory. Gelrite Gellan Gum Plant Tissue Grade

Gelrite is a highly purified grade of low acyl gellan gum designed for use in

microbiological assay, plant propagation and tissue culture.

Gellan is a water-soluble bio-polymer used as a gelling agent. The low acyl type forms

hard gels at low concentrations in the presence of an electrolyte.

  • Forms gels which are mechanically robust

  • Forms gels which are transparent and colourless

  • Forms gels which are thermally reversible

  • Forms gels which do not melt at high ambient temperatures

  • Forms gels which do not exhibit syneresis

Glass-Bead Sterilizers

Gloves

Nitrile Glove is one of the highest quality brands available today. The quality exceeds industry standards (ASTM D 6319) by minimizing the number of critical defects (AQL 1.5). Nitrile Glove is continuously tested for possible development of sensitivity to prevent skin irritation.  Nurses and doctors use Nitrile gloves in high-stress environments, high contamination areas, as well as when handling hazardous chemicals. Nitrile Glove is preferred by many healthcare workers because of the extra protection. Most healthcare facilities use a combination of latex or vinyl exam gloves with nitrile exam gloves. In such cases, the latex or vinyl glove is used as the all-purpose medical glove.

Haemacytometer Counting Chambers

A specimen slide which is used to determine the concentration of cells in a liquid sample. It is frequently used to determine the concentration of blood cells (hence the name “hemo-”) but also the concentration of sperm cells in a sample. The cover glass, which is placed on the sample, does not simply float on the liquid, but is held in place at a specified height (usually 0.1mm). Additionally, a grid is etched into the glass of the hemocytometer. This grid, an arrangement of squares of different sizes, allows for an easy counting of cells. This way it is possible to determine the number of cells in a specified volume.

Dynagria

Dynagria is a formulated tablet product that contains only one active ingredient, the auxin Indole-3-Butyric Acid, also known as "IBA".
The inert ingredient IBA is universally utilised in the agriculture and horticulture sectors to induce the development of roots, to enhance the performance and quality of the crop.
Dynagria when diluted is directly applied on the cuttings or by spraying it on the stumps or sprouts, to promote the initiation of the formation of adventitious roots and re-establishing the radical system of the sugarcane plants. The radical neo-formation of the roots induces a greater development of the bio-mass of the sugar cane plants, enlarging its vigour and resistance to adverse conditions in the environment, resulting in the increase of the crop.

Makler Counting Chambers

Sperm count performed from undiluted specimen. The number of spermatozoa counted in any strip of 10 squares of the grid indicates their concentration in millions/ml. No additional factors are necessary for calculation. The depth of 10 microns eliminates blurring and allows sperm to move freely. The applied sample is observed in one focal plane.

The grid is in the cover glass. No need to insert a grid into the microscope eye piece and remove it when not required. Economical reusable - Easily cleaned with a non-bleach disinfectant solution.

PARAFILM® Nursery Grafting Tape

Parafilm ® grafting tape is an economical, fast and easy-to-use product that makes plant grafting and budding efforts a breeze for nursery workers, Landscapers and gardeners. Apply Parafilm ® tape over the usual grafting rubber or tape normally used to hold the union secure until the grafting takes hold.  And, it may be enough alone to hold the scion of some soft-stemmed species in place.  Parafilm ® clear film has the right attributes to ensure your grafting efforts succeed.  It is waterproof, flexible, stretchable and self-adhering.  It allows gases (oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc.) to pass through, yet offers an excellent moisture barrier.  The combination is perfect for grafting which requires a barrier to keep moisture in while allowing oxygen and carbon dioxide to pass through.  Available in clear tape in ½” (12.5mm x 27m) rolls.

Visking Tubing (Dialysis Tubing)

Visking membranes are cellulose based tubes and sheets which have a selective porosity and are therefore widely used where osmosis and filtration are employed. The membranes are easy to use and offer a cost-effective separation tool.

Visking Dialysis Membrane is a low cost and effective range of membranes which includes lower molecular weight cut-off membranes, smaller bore tubing and flat sheets.

PROPPER Vapor Line

Vapor Line Integrator is a physicochemical steam sterilization monitor which relies on the migration of a dark coloured chemical melt along a paper wick to signal sterilizing (green for pass) or non-sterilizing (red for fail) exposure conditions.

 

The extent to which the chemical melt travels along the wick (length of run) is quite reproducible and depends on:

  1. the presence of saturated steam

  2. the exposure temperature and,

  3. the time of exposure.

 

These are the three critical variables of steam sterilization. Vapor Line Integrator will accurately monitor all variables and integrate the effects of each into a stable, easy-to-read, ark colour bar display. Vapor Line will literally PASS or FAIL the steam-processed load...no colour interpretation of the bar is required.
